Annual Events Worth Planning Around
OB Street Fair
Annual street fair on Newport Avenue with live music, food vendors, and local art. One of the biggest community events in OB — draws big crowds and makes parking difficult.
OB Farmers Market
Wednesdays 4–8 PM on Newport Avenue. Produce, prepared food, and a fun local scene. Year-round, free to attend.
Fleet Week
Fleet Week events spill over into Point Loma and the harbor area. Military ship tours, airshows, and increased activity on Shelter Island. Can make parking and crowds heavier than usual.
Whale Watching Season
Gray whales migrate past Point Loma from December through April. Watch from shore at Cabrillo National Monument or take a boat tour from Shelter Island. January through March is peak season.
