Walk back to Hillcrest and find a patio lunch spot on University Ave. The neighborhood is colorful and inclusive — Pride flags, independent shops, and sidewalk cafes. Take your time and soak up the energy.

Explore Hillcrest

Browse the LGBTQ+ bookstores, community shops, and independent boutiques along University Ave. Hillcrest has a character that is genuinely unique in San Diego.

Walk to North Park

Walk from Hillcrest to North Park (about 20 minutes). Head to 30th Street — the main drag — and check out the murals along the way. The street art is some of the best in San Diego.

North Park Breweries

Hit one or two of the craft breweries on 30th Street. Most have outdoor seating and creative beer lists. This is one of San Diego's top craft beer corridors.

💡 North Park has become a legitimate beer destination. Ask your bartender for recommendations — they know what is freshest.

Sunset Walk

Walk to a higher point in Balboa Park or Mission Hills for a sunset view. Free, uncrowded, and genuinely beautiful.
