Annual Events Worth Planning Around

June

PB Street Fair

One of the biggest street fairs in San Diego — Garnet Avenue closes for live music, food vendors, and local art. A massive community event that draws big crowds. Parking is brutal — bike or Uber in.

July

Over-the-Line Tournament

A wild local softball-on-sand tournament on Fiesta Island on Mission Bay. Been going since 1954. Spectator-friendly, free to watch, and a uniquely San Diego experience. Expect creative team names and a very relaxed vibe.

Jul–Aug

Comic-Con Spillover

San Diego Comic-Con in late July fills every hotel and rental in the county. If you're not attending, PB gets busy with overflow visitors. Book far in advance if your trip overlaps.

Year-round

Belmont Park Open Daily

The Giant Dipper roller coaster and arcade at Belmont Park are open daily. Not a seasonal event, but worth knowing — it's a constant in the Mission Beach boardwalk scene.

Sep–Oct

Best Beach Weather

The warmest ocean water of the year hits in September and October. Crowds thin after Labor Day but the weather stays excellent. Locals call this the best time in PB.

Winter

San Diego Restaurant Week

Participating restaurants across San Diego offer prix-fixe menus at reduced prices. A good opportunity to try nicer spots at accessible prices.
